We are pleased to announce that the Saint Francis Wolf Sanctuary with the approval of the Sam Houston Area Council of the Boy Scouts of America is making available the Akela Award for Cub Scouts.
Sessions will be held at the Sanctuary on the last Saturday of each quarter with the next session for 2009 to be announced. Sessions will begin at 9 am sharp with a flag ceremony and end at 3 pm. Each Scout is to bring their own lunch and/or snack and drink. Water will be provided and clean up required.
Sessions are limited to 20 Scouts. Once a session is full the next Scout to sign up will be rolled over to the next session. You will be notified should this happen.
There will be no rain date for the sessions. The Sanctuary has a covered area within view of the wolves that will be utilized for these sessions so weather will not be an issue.
This is a very exciting opportunity that only a small percent of Scouts from Anywhere will ever have. To earn a Badge within the sight and sound of real wolves is a rare opportunity in deed. Come share that time with us and pass the word along.
